Wilber Crop Clinic Cancelled, Alternative Options Available

The Wilber Crop Clinic is cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the difficulty in delivering this program at the quality level it deserves. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension is the host and organizer of the annual Wilber Crop Clinic, which started in 2004. It is normally held the first Friday in February at Sokol Hall in Wilber. Planning for a large event that draws 15 agribusiness exhibitors and over 100 local farmers starts in earnest in December each year. The Wilber Crop Clinic is free and open to the public throughout the day and creates an environment where social interactions between farmers, exhibitors, and speakers is essential. Creating that type of social environment while prioritizing the safety of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic is difficult. While we will not have the Wilber Crop Clinic, all are encouraged to leverage resources from the past clinic including speaker presentations found at https://croptechcafe.org/wilbercropclinic/. Nebraska Extension and our local sponsors for the Wilber Crop Clinic are dedicated to providing you with a great atmosphere in future years.

Nebraska Extension will continue with other various programs through online options or through smaller in-person events. The Eastern Nebraska Crop Production Clinics are hosted live online on January 14 and 21 (both dates offer the same program). The clinics run from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm. The clinics provides opportunity to interact online with others in eastern Nebraska, obtain commercial and private pesticide license recertification, and earn certified crop adviser (CCA) continuing education units or credits. View the agenda and register for one of the two clinic dates.

The Nebraska Crop Management Conference will be hosted live online on Wednesday, January 27. The Nebraska Crop Management Conference will offer unique sessions with up-to-date information for successful crop management. Experts from Nebraska and the U.S. will provide research-based information in crop production, soil and water management, pest management, agricultural economics and marketing, climate analysis, and agricultural technology. The conference provides opportunity to interact with farmers and Ag professionals from across Nebraska, obtain commercial and private pesticide license recertification, and earn CCA credits. View the agenda and register for the online conference. We will be offering additional programs in February including the Nebraska Cover Crop & Soil Health Conference on February 11 and the Nebraska On-Farm Research Update Meetings on February 25 and 26.

Nebraska Extension is dedicated to bringing you programs that offer unbiased and science-driven information for your farm in 2021. However, we will be delivering programs differently that bring you that same information while prioritizing the safety of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
