“This is Nathan Mueller, Cropping Systems Extension Educator in Fremont, NE. Nebraska Extension will be hosting three On-Farm Research Updates in February. At these meetings, growers who conducted on-farm research will share results from the 2014 growing season.
The date and location of the three meeting are:
Feb. 13th in Grand Island at the Hall County Extension Office on the College Park Campus
Feb. 16th in Norfolk at the Lifelong Learning Center at Northeast Community College
And Feb. 17th near Mead at the UNL Agricultural Research and Development Center (ARDC)
The meetings will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all locations. Registration is free, but pre-registration is recommended for meal planning.
These On-Farm Research studies were field-length, replicated treatment comparisons conducted by growers in their fields using their equipment that can offer valuable information for other producers. In 2014 more than 75 studies were conducted as part of the Nebraska On-Farm Research Network, a statewide on-farm research program addressing critical farmer production, profitability, and natural resource questions where growers take an active role in the research.
Data and information will be presented from research on Cover crops, Foliar fungicides, Growth promoters, Harvest methods, Seed treatments, Foliar micronutrients, Lime, Planting operations, Corn and Soybean population, and the Use of polymers and sugar.
Preregistration is requested for meal planning. To register for any of the sites call (402) 624-8000, 402-624-8000 and indicate which site you plan to attend. Approval has been sought for five Certified Crop Advisor CEU credits. The programs are sponsored by Nebraska Extension in partnership with the Nebraska Corn Board, the Nebraska Soybean Board, and the Nebraska Corn Growers.
